Flute Lessons

I aim to make music making and learning enjoyable, while continuously developing the technique, tone and overall performance of a student, particularly for those wanting to complete exams, perform in concerts or competitions.

Lessons will have a focus on the skills required to learn and enjoy playing the flute, but will also incorporate some theory instruction that will be tailored for every student and their skill base.

What will I need?

Students will need an instrument that they can practice on regularly at home and bring to lessons. (Often music stores have rent/buy later options and will often give good advice for beginning flutists and first time buyers.)

Students will need a notebook, display folder, music stand (to use at home) and may need to purchase music books irregularly, depending on their level.

Piano Lessons

I offer piano lessons for beginner students only. These lessons may use a set classical course, or can focus on contemporary popular/jazz playing.

General Lesson Information

I am a passionate advocate of music education and find great pleasure in assisting people of all ages and skill levels to achieve their very best. I am currently studying Master of Teaching in order to further my pedagogical knowledge.

Lessons run for either 30 minutes or 1 hour. This is depending on the student - I advise that for younger or beginning students, that they start with 30 minute lessons.

Lessons are given in the students home. Therefore, lessons are given only in the South-Eastern suburbs of Melbourne, depending on the proximity to my home.

Please visit my 'Contact' page to get in touch. I am more than happy to answer any questions and can send through lesson prices.

Please note that lessons are given in time slots after school hours (4-7pm, weekdays) and are dependent on availablity.

Current Projects

I am currently employed at St Brigids Parish Primary School in Mordialloc, where I teach around 20 enthusiastic, young piano students.

I return to Bendigo to tutor at the Bendigo Instrumental Program Music Week. I have tutored in Bendigo in 2013, 2014 & 2015. Here, I work with many young flutists from year 7-10, assisting them with new band repertoire which is then performed in a concert at the end of the intensive week, full of rehearsals and workshops!
