About the work:
In The Hills was written as a tribute to my home- the beautiful hills in Harcourt North. The music reflects upon the beauty of the area, but also holds a touch of longing and nostalgia. The memories of the freedom and peace of my childhood combine to form my perception of home and have been a main influence for the music.
A piece ideal for young/intermediate players.

About the work:
Three Short Pieces began as a work with no specific storyline or image in mind, later evolving into a set that reflected upon my first year of independence, of university and of living away from home.
Vitality represents the idea of bringing forth your childlike joy and enthusiasm, no matter your age or the attitudes of those surrounding you.
Depth represents the idea of deeper thought, of conflict within this and balancing tension and unity.
Realization is the bringing together of both of the previous two pieces and displays the freedom felt when you find and take control of a part of yourself that was previously hidden.
A piece for experienced flute ensembles.
